Atlantic Gastroenterology Associates is a full-service practice specializing in gastrointestinal, liver disease and related disorders. Our physicians are board-certified and fellowship-trained in gastroenterology and internal medicine. We practice medicine as well as teach other physicians.

Barry Kaufman, M.D., F.A.C.G., C.N.S.P.

A native New Yorker, Dr. Kaufman earned a Bachelor of Science degree from Brooklyn College. He attended Albert Einstein College of Medicine and completed his internship at Montefiore Hospital and Medical Center, both in the Bronx. Dr. Kaufman earned a fellowship at the University of Miami School of Medicine and is board certified in Internal Medicine and Gastroenterology. He is also certified in nutrition support.

As Medical Director of AGA's Crohn's and Colitis Treatment Center, Dr. Kaufman helms the Dr. Stephen Matarazzo IBD Conference that brings some of the top physicians on the east coast to present the latest information to medical professionals and the public.

As Medical Director of AGA's Celiac Diagnostic Center he developed the Celiac/Gluten Free support group that meets each month. 

Together with his colleagues at AGA, Dr. Kaufman was a co-investigator on over 100 clinical trials, assessing the effectiveness of emerging treatments for digestive and liver diseases.

The Northfield resident is a sought-after speaker who presents at major events throughout the country. In 2010 the Delaware Valley Crohn’s and the Crohn’s and Colitis Foundation of America Philadelphia/Delaware Valley Chapter named Dr. Kaufman as Physician of the Year and Philadelphia Magazine named him a "Top Doc" in gastroenterology in southern New Jersey. 

Active in the medical community, Dr. Kaufman served as Chief of Gastroenterology at AtlantiCare Regional Medical Center for more than 30 years, and is currently an attending physician there.

Gary A. Rosman, M.D., F.A.C.G., A.G.A.F., AGA, ACG

For nearly three decades, Gary A. Rosman, M.D. has set the standard for quality care in gastroenterology at AGA and affiliated medical centers. In fact, his work on a quality committee for a regional medical center resulted in national recognition. And while quality is key for Dr. Rosman, his patients are his real inspiration. For more than two decades, he’s been helping them manage their painful symptoms, and where possible, eradicate them.

Dr. John Santoro, Medical Director of Atlantic Gastroenterology Associates (AGA) Hepatitis Treatment Center, has cared for more than 300,000 patients during his 33-year tenure at AGA and at affiliated medical centers.
